Home > Outreach Ministries Outreach Ministries at Dwight The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14) Dwight Chapel believes in the importance of investing in our community and showing them the love of Christ in a practical way. Therefore, many of our programs and resources focus around serving those around the valley. Read below to learn more about our outreach ministries. Friends of JesusThe Friends of Jesus ministry is our Nursing Home Ministry. Leviticus 19:32 tells us to “Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.” Each month the Friends of Jesus ministry meets to pray and then travel to Sunbridge Nursing Home in Hadley, MA. Our goal for this ministry is to show God’s love in a practical way. Members of this ministry visit with the residents, pray for them, and share what God has put on their hearts. No special gifts or talents are required, just a heart to encourage and lift each other up in the name of the Lord. Van Ministry
The van ministry was developed to enable those without transportation to join us on Sunday mornings for worship and teaching. It makes two stops on Sunday morning, at Amherst College and at Umass. A shedule will appear here when rides start in September. Dwight Chapel has several other outreach programs not featured here. |
